If you are using 'new' boot blocks, then you will want to boot from
hd(1,a):/netbsd  or hd(1,a):/freebsd  or hd(1,a):/386bsd.

If not, no.

The way to tell is that new boot blocks are interactive.  You have an
opportunity to enter this information.  The old boot blocks did not give
you a choice.

Once the system is loaded, it is possible to change the system so that
it will boot from either (See the FAQ for more information).
