   I had a very similar situation here. I could configure sio00 for
getty, but not for tip or uucp. I ended up recompiling the kernel
with sio0 and com1 configured. The com driver works fine for dialout,
and sio does well for getty dialin. I would be interested in a fix
for this situation, or even better, bidirectional ports that work.
