My question is 1. How to increase this 2. I was wondering if I had already created a file for swapping, but somehow the system does'nt know it is there. This results in my having less disk for storing real files and the system runs out of memory because it does'nt know that it has this extra space. If such a thing is happening how do I detect and rectify it. thanks db
