Sure.  I mean, you don't have to do anything super special to make it
work, just stuff it in there and go crazy.l

I don't think so, ATI has their own chipset.

I think the soon-to-be-released release of XFree86 2.0 will support
accelerated video cards.  I know I had an EISA box with an ATI Ultra
graphics Pro or somesuch, and it worked fine.
