1) Patchkit 0.2.3 is *old*  (0.2.4 has been out for eons in the BSD life
   cycle of things)
2) Don't bother with the patchkit any more.  The patchkit folks have all
   moved on to making a new release.

Look at getting either FreeBSD or NetBSD.  FreeBSD is put out by the
patchkit folks, NetBSD is put out by some other informed folks who also
helped with the patchkit.  (plus a lot more other informed folks)
