Subject: NetBSD 0.9: problems with terminal on com1

Howdy,
OK, I just upgraded to NetBSD 0.9. Everything is working
*except* my VT102, which is connected to com1. (It had been
working reasonably well under NetBSD 0.8). I added this line
to /etc/ttys

com1	"/usr/libexec/getty std.9600"	vt102	on	secure

and used MAKEDEV to make a device for com1. After rebooting,
the NetBSD banner and login prompt come up as usual. Everything
is fine until I run a program which does some sort of terminal
I/O (such as more and elvis). At this point, I get a line of
garbage characters, and the terminal is rendered unusable.
The com port is on a generic IDE card, and I have no
idea what kind of hardware runs it. Would a new card (with better
UARTs) help?

Thanks,
Dave
