   Its an off-shoot of 386bsd.  Both are Net/2 based OS's for the Intel
   x86 architecture.

Umm.. this is misleading.  While NetBSD does support the i386
architecture, it is being modified towards providing a common code
base for ports to other architectures.

Already we have ports for the Amiga, hp300 (this was largely in
net/2), Macintosh (to be released soon).  I am also aware of
ports-in-progress for other 68k-based platforms including the Sun3 (by
me), NS32k single-board computers, and 88k, MIPS, and sparc-based
workstations.
