Hi. Could someone enlighten me as to the cause and soln to
the error msg "shared memory error (device conflict?)" from the 3c503
driver?

I'm installing 386bsd 0.1 from the InfoMagic Aug'92 CD-ROM.  The error
occurs when booting the Tiny BSD floppy or from hd. This seems like a
hardware problem to me, yet the system works fine with Chameleon (TCPIP for
MS-Windows). _Just_once_, I did observe the system to boot properly
(printing 3c503 Enet addr & other params), but haven't been able to repeat
this miracle.

I haven't found anything in the FAQ from hrd769.af.mil.
Thanks for any help.

My config:
Hardware:	AT-Clone 486DX/33, 8Mb RAM, Oak SuperVGA,
		329MB Maxtor IDE HD (type 47), 3.5" floppy, and 3c503 Enet.
3c503 jumpers:	iobase  = 0x250
		membase = 0xd8000
		(as per 386BSD "install.notes" file).
Have tried all membase jumper settings:	DISABLED, DC000, D8000, CC000, C8000
