I am using a dos program to initialize the S3 card. After powering up the
machine, i boot dos, and run some DOS program that takes the card to the
graphics mode i want (windows or diagnostics ...). Then i boot NetBSD
and everything works fine. There has been lots og discussion about
initializing S3 cards going on in the developements group, so it seems to
be a problem (using V86 modes an on board bioses etc.). Booting trough dos
works fine for me. I am using a Diamond STEALTH 24 board and Amancios XS3
Xserver.
