I'm running a system with a wd1007 esdi controller and a micropolis 1355 disk.
I tried to do an install. There was a "wdc0: extra interrupt" shortly after
the floppy kernel booted (and a "no swap (yet)" message). I followed
instructions and things went to the point where various things were being
copied to the hard disk. I got a message saying that copying /etc/disklabel
failed due to an I/O error, and the following message, presumably from the
kernel:

ST0: 44 ST1: 2 ST2: 0 ST3: 41 cyl 1 hd 12 sec 2

There are two serious oddities here. One is that the drive only has *8* heads.
The other is that the very first time I tried this, the installation made it
quite a bit further, to the point of copying the things off the second
install disk. One other item: low level formatting of the disk did not fix it.

Another possibly relevant fact: the controller itself is fine; I'm using it
at this instant. (I have two identical disks, which I physically swap. One for
my running system and one for play.)

Any clues?
