This may have been discussed before, excuse for possibly repeating:

It seems to me that telnet hangs when I want to telnet from my 386BSD
machine to an outside machine. I get the login prompt of the remote
machine but no input is possible.

The system still is alive, though. Is this a known quirk or is it my
ignorance (= missing patch)?
