Summary: Is there bootp client code using Berkeley Packet Filter available?

Hello,

Has any one implemented a bootp client for (386)BSD? Such a client
could turn on the IP network during a BSD host's boot process with out
having to use hardwired values.

Am I correct in assuming that such a bootp client would (could) be
implemented using bpf (Berkeley Packet Filter)?

(Please don't confuse this with bootpd, a bootp server)
(If all else fails I suppose I could hack my bootp/tftp prom code :-)
