I have a 486 with 1 localbus video and a few isa slots.
I have an IDE 245 meg (Seagate 3233A) disk.

I am planning to upgrade with some more disk, and scsi has been
recomended (by the salesperson - who doesn't know about 386bsd :-)

I have seen postings that the Adaptec 1542B (?) controller works, but
this guy was talking about an Adaptec ??22M.

Has anyone had experience with SCSI controllers other than the 1542?,
or even nasty problems with the 1542?.

I would like to be able to keep the IDE for dos, and use the SCSI for
386bsd.

Thanks in advance.
gjn
