I have another crash to report....

When I run xfig; and iconify it, the server goes "poof", dumping
core. This happened at XFree86-1.2 as well as the current XFree86-1.3.

It is possible some interaction with the olwm I'm running, I haven't
tried it under twm - but the core file isn't from olwm, it's definitely
from XFree86.

One happy bit of news; running cbzone no longer locks up the server;
it doesn't run correctly either but at least you can recover from it.
