I have a 1542C controller which I have been attempting to use in
installing BSD on a SABRE 1.Gig external hard drive. The drive is
partitioned between dos and what will eventually hold my bsd.Dos
boots and works well from the system at present.

I am unable however to get the boot disk (tiny386) to come
up to even begin the installation. I get the following message
at each attempt before the system hangs:
-------------------------------------------------------
pc<color> at 0x60 irq 1 n isa
fd0 drives 0: 1.2M , 1:1.44 at 03f0 irq 6 drq 2 on isa
as0as: put byte timed out
at 0x330 irq 11 drq 5 on isa
npx0 at 0xfp irq 13 on isa
Changing root device to fd0a
--------------------------------------------------------

My system is configured as follows:
386sx 20Mhz with 6MByte RAM
2 External SABRE 1 Gig drives running
from an Adaptec SCSI 1542 controller set at the defaults
1.2 & 1.44 Floppy running from the 1542 and a everex EV-633 VGA
card.

I would appreciate any advice on how I may proceed to get this
system running.

Best regards
