   [Installing NetBSD]

Hacking around (and making sure I had a GOOD backup), I came up with the
theoretically correct parameters. I entered those, and upon allocationg
everything left over to /usr, the script broke after the (y/n) question on
   proceeding with the error

363 Syntax Error: Unterminated quoted string

Inspection of the file didn't seem to turn up anything, but cat is not much
   of a file browser.

I got the same problem using a copy of NetBSD from a mirror site.
agate.berkeley.edu has a bugfix for this in floppies directory.

Anybody got any ideas on this one?

Oh yes, if you don't want to use you good backup ;) make sure that partition
type in hex is 0xA5 - this will prevent NetBSD from overwriting your master
boot record. This is mentioned in install notes for 386BSD 0.1 but not for
NetBSD (I did have to use my backup).
