I have BSDI BSD/386 on a PC at home, and they use the SGCS X server. I
recall several Diamond cards as being supported, not yours specifically, but
the list was long.

Does SGCS offer an X server in the 386BSD a.out format? I know BSDI can
run 386BSD executables, but not the other way around.

NetBSD can run both, you may have to go that way.
