I have a hack that redefines alt-key to be esc-key, which is what meta
becomes on most keyboards that don't support a direct meta key anyway. 
If anyone wants the diffs (they add a few other things to pccons as
well, like support for changing the vga palette colors with esc
sequences), I could post them I guess...
