Hope someone can figure out, why my mouse doesn't run under X11.

I have a 486/33 Eisa machine with an Optima Mega ET4000 based
graphics card. I have 8 Mb RAM and the poorly 5 MB Swap on disk.
I use a serial card with 16450 chips on it.
I have a Logitech S9 mouse connected to com1.
In the Xconfig file I configured the mouse as follows

logitech	/dev/com00
BaudRate	2400
SampleRate	150

When starting X with xinit, then the server starts up properly
three windows came up, twm comes up as window manager,
but I can't see any pointer on the screen ?
What has hapened with my pointer device ?

In the meantime I tried another graphic card. A ET4000 based local
bus card since I have a VESA Local Bus slot on my eisa board.

Same as above. X11 starts properly. The desktop background, the windows,
twm .. everything works great. But I have no pointer device ....

Are there any known problems with the patched serial driver
that comes with the patchkit 0.2.3 ???

Or do I use the wrong ports ? (I can't believe ) !

Another question:
Now I have a third graphic card for test only.
An ELSA WINNER 1000 which I use in eisa mode in an eisa slot.

This card has 2 Mb Ram installed. Perhaps I want to buy
such a card to upgrade my video card to something faster
than the ET4000 based cards.
The WINNER 1000 has the 86C928 chip on board and has included
a standard vga interface so that you don't need to insert a
2nd card as vga only card.

Is there a X11R5 (XFree86) version that supports this card ?

I like this card very much, because in DOS/WINDOWS you can
setup / fine tune the card to any combination of resolution and
V. scanning frequency. With an EIZO FLEXSCAN 9070S I can run
800x600x256 and 80 Hz non interlaced !

Please reply via E-Mail. Thank you very much.
