I don't know about the "Adaptec compatible" mode. But it is
supposed to be compatible with the Ultrastore 14F, for which
there is a driver. It turns out that there is one slight
difference that prevented the driver from working as is.

Fortunately Alison Schary (aqs@cyborg.EE.CORNELL.EDU) and Bob
Byrnes came up with the addition that allows a 34F to be used
with 386BSD (0.1 w/ 0.2.2) and NetBSD. She has tested the
controller with a tape drive while I tested it with a disk
drive. The change has been sent to Julian for his blessing.
Once he has made sure it makes sense it will be sent to the
NetBSD, patches, and Jolitz folks. It will also be posted to
	the net.

		Stay tuned,

		    Scott

P.S. Does anyone have any async or random I/O disk benchmarks?
I have iozone but it is sequential only.
