Summary: Why does the screen ALWAYS need redrawing?
Keywords: telnet rlogin com1 com2
Lines: 17

Every time I login to my 386bsd/NetBSD (it happens under both)
I lose screen draws. This is especially apparent when running screen.
You switch screens and nothing more than a line or 2 redraws, I have used
^l way way too much as a result. At 2400 from delphi, this is not fun
nor is it even bearable. It costs. And it happens to all my users that
rlogin and/or telnet. The worst thing is the discrepncy between delphi's
idea of what vt100 is and what my machine thinks is it. nn, elm, and irc
are bascally useless because almost all cursor movement effects mess up.
I think that both of these seemingly unrelated problems have a common
root. Does anyone know why termcap appears ot be puking?
My setup. NetBSD stock, 486dx33, asante ne2000 isa 16 bit ethernet
card, and a variety of video cards ( I test new ones almost weekly) 8mb
ram 20 megs swap 1 drive, 3 partitions.
