:) :) :) :) Thanks very much. It did turn out to be the serial
card. I've put the old one back in and that works a treat. I've
got two of the old sort and two of the new sort. Both old work fine
(twin real 16550), both new don't (twin pretend 16550 on a surface
mount thingy).
