I apologise if this is a FAQ, but I haven't seen any info on this lately.

I recently got a new machine with a Quad Phantom VESA local bus S3 board. This
board uses a Chrontel 9294G-S clock synthesizer instead of the 9204(?) one
listed in the example Xconfig (I got a copy of all the XS3 info I could find on
sunvis.rtpnc.epa.gov in /pub/386bsd/incoming).

I have managed to get the X386mono server going, but monochrome 640x480 just
isn't the same :-)

Any help would be appreciated.
