I was wondering if someone could give my some help on getting slip to run
using the NetBSD-0.8 install disks. I'm trying to use tip to access a modem
connected on com1 so I can dailup our terminal server and startup slip. The
only way I could have tip access /dev/com1 was to chmod com1 to 666. I
finally was able to talk to the modem, dialed up our terminal server and
started up slip. I suspended tip and tried to start up slip on the NetBSD
machine by using slattach to /dev/com1, but I got an error from iocntl saying
that this device is not supported. At this point I have run out of guesses.
Could anyone give me the steps I am missing to get slip running?

Thanks,
Brian Moore
