apologies if this is a naive faq, please direct me to a better forum if
there is one.

can someone tell me how to configure my 386bsd system to use a printer
on one of the serial lines? here is my current printcap entry:

lp|local line printer:\
        :sd=/var/spool/lpd:lf=/var/log/lpd-errs:\
        :lp=/dev/com1:br#9600:

what i'm trying to end up with is a setting which has the printer using
xon/xoff flow control, 8 bits, no parity. but i can't find out the
magic constants needed in the fc/fs/xc/xs capabilities. i'd also like
to run the line at a hight speed, 38400 baud if that's possible.

at the moment all i get as output is a couple of blank pages :-(.

of course, what i'd really like to do is attach the printer to the
parallel port, but i don't have a driver for that. has anyone else
managed to do it?

thanks,

rob.
