Just had a look at the directories of the NetBSD-0.8 release and
found the following:

usr/src/usr.sbin/named
usr/src/usr.sbin/mtree

contain several object files; looks as if the make clean does not work there.

usr/src/usr.gnubin/gzip-1.0.7

has subdirectories for vms, msdos, atari and amiga, which are not needed
here. A pointer to a complete gzip release would be sufficient, and could reduce
the distribution sizes. (This stripping was already done with gcc as well).

Maybe I am wrong, but usr/src/usr.bin/tar does not look like the recent
gnu release, which allows unpacking of gzip files, which would be an improvement.
