Interesting...

I had the same problem; the floppy light would come on, but no boot.  I
foold around with pulling boards out until I was down to just the disk
controller and video board; it still wouldn't boot.  However, after playing
with the BIOS settings (I have an AMI BIOS dated 10/92) I stumbled across
the fact that the AMI BIOS allows you to set the NUMLOCK key off during
boot.  Disabling this feature (that is, making NUMLOCK be ON during boot)
cleared up that problem...

Now it boots up to the copywrite stuff, then hangs... Sigh...
