CMU halted release of the BSD328-derived Unix server shortly after the filing
of the USL lawsuit to avoid being brought into litigation. Work has continued
on the server inside of CMU ; I've spoken with Mary Thompson and she says that
CMU wants to make it available however they are waiting final approval from
the vice-provost and University lawyers before doing so.

I have heard little details as to the status of the server - no called - BSDSS5 other than alot of bugs have been cleaned up and it is available for the
MIPS and i386/486 platform.

I have also contacted a grad student at UCF that is working on a Linux
single server for Mach 3.0.

There appears to be alot of interest in reviving Mach 3.0 as an operating
system base for a 'free Unix' ; when this happens - alot of platform
specific work in Linux or 386BSD can be leveraged into a User-space
implementation that will run not only on the i386/486 but also the
other free platforms that Mach supports.

Carnegie-Mellon is now distributing Mach 3.0 on the following hardware
platforms:

i386/486	- ISA, PS/2 , Sequent Symmetry
68020/030	- Sun 3
88000 - Omron Luna
MIPS R3000	- DECStation 2100/3100/5000 series
VAX - MicroVAX I,II,6000 series, 8000 series
ALPHA - DEC AXP 4000 series
SPARC - Sun 4 ; SPARCstation I and II compliant machines
PA-RISC - Some 700 series boxes
