I've installed patchkit 0.2.2 (backed out all the old patches, removed
any extra bits, installed the patchkit, and then added syscons and pcfs).

I'm just trying to use a modem connection to download some software (not
slip at the moment), I blame my serial port for the most part and have
a 16550 card on order, but...

Since I haven't got any sort of comms package, I'm using tip (ugh!), when
I transfer a file (which I have to uuencode since it's only 7bit) it
tends to get garbled and after uudecoding (if it works) won't untar.

I tried to install cdg's com drivers but they seem very reliant on a
0.2.1 patch level. Is there a newer version?

I'm only running the serial line at 9600 (I get complete garbage at 19200 and
38400 - hence the new serial card), but if I switch consoles (syscon virtual
consoles) while there is some serial activity, I get several 'silo overflow'
messages and then the system reboots!

What is the best com driver? Where can I get it? and does it work
with patchkit 0.2.2 ?

Thanks,

Lee.
