Work on an intermediate distribution is already in progress; if you or anyone
else thinks they can help, they should post about it here, and they will
probably be contacted (I'm not directly involved in this effort at this
time, so mailing me won't help).
I seriously doubt that division into BIN01 and ETC01 distributions will
be done, if only because the install program and release management software
use on the 0.1 distribution haven't been made public. There has been some
talk of SCO-like configuration management/package management tools (and one
mention of the POSIX stuff).
In any case, it's unlikely that the packaging will resemble the 0.1
distribution, except perhaps the boot disks.
