Hi,

I've been struggling with X386 trying to get a screen of something other than
random dots and fuzzy lines without much joy - any help much appreciated.

My hardware is AST Premium, 386/33, 8Mbytes RAM, 85M (IDE), 425M (SCSI). A big
problem (I think) is I do not know any details of the SVGA, it is built in on
the mother board and none of the docs tell me what clock rate etc it supports.
I've looked all over as much of the mother board as I can see without removing
the power supply for the crystal but nothing obvious has turned up. There is
a 66MHz crystal on the processor board (this is 'cupid' architecture,
upgradeable cpu/memory board) - but I don't think this has anything to do with
the SVGA.

I have the VDU info (bandwidth 45M), horizontal, vertical scan frequencies etc.
Also I don't know about memory (for the SVGA) so I do no know how to set up
Xconfig correctly .

Lastly, I have an ms mouse that connects to the PS/2 type interface, not the
com1 or com2 ports. Does 386bsd have a device driver for this interface ?

Many thanks for reading this.
