I have a 486 with 16M of RAM. I was getting regular kmem_map panics
when stressing the NFS code. I had to raise the figure in
/sys/sys/vm_map.h from 1000 to 10000. That may not have cured the
disease, but it seems to have effectively aleviated the symptoms.
