Trust me.  The patchkit works quite well.

I've started with a 0.2.1 patched system where I had to back out that one
bad patch by hand.  I updated to 0.2.2, and repatched.  It worked.  All of
it.

I rebuilt all the binaries.  It works, too.

Then I started with a fresh (not my choice, bad drive) install at home.
It went smoothly as well.
