386BSD rookie here...

For common programs like kermit or tin, is there an ftp site where
386BSD binaries are stored? With Linux (yes-yes, I know) the
binaries are commonly available. Is 386BSD's BSD portability so
good that archiving binaries/ports is not required (he asked hopefully)?

Is simply compiling (porting?) myself the best approach for the
COMMON packages?

I am assuming the etc01 distribution is not the answer.
