first off, thanks for the multiple and rapid responses to my compaq boot
query. :)

now, more fun. after running install, and copying the floppy image(s) to
the 386bsd partition, the machine boots from the now-active bsd partition.

after probing the peripherals, the machine panics while attempting to mount
root. the display recycles pretty quickly, so i'm only able to glean that
much from it - the mount root thingie.

i also seem to recall reading in the faq or bug report or somewhere that
a chmod needs to be done. but do you think i can find the reference?

the fixit floppy boots ok, but i'm not able to fsck /dev/rwd0a||wd0a...
"no label" or some such message.

the newfs and load of the floppy images seems to be ok. and since the
machine keeps rebooting, i'm assuming that the label is ok..

thanks, as always, in advance. again.

cheers,
