Strange. Do you run more than one filesystem on your systems, so that
you can uniquely attribute your problems to extfs, and not to any
other part of the system? There have been quite a few reports
recently of apparent file system problems occurring because of SCSI
problems, but I have not heard of any actual extfs bugs recently.

I have run extfs on my own machine since starting Linux, and have
_never_ encountered a problem except as a result of my crashing the
kernel during kernel development.

If you could give some idea of what your problems are, it might be
possible to isolate the problem and even find a solution.

Cheers,
 Stephen Tweedie.
