Hi *,

I've just noticed a very strange problem with newfs and 5.25 inch
floppies.

Before today, I've been able to newfs on my 5.25 /dev/fd0a floppy
without problems (using newfs /dev/rfd0a floppy5) but when I tried it
today, the kernel panicked nearly every time. The panic message wasn't
on the screen long enough for me to find what the problem was. :(

I am able to newfs /dev/fd1a floppy3 (the 3.5") fine, though, and I can
mount disks that I've put filesytems on, and I can tar on the 5.25 disk
successfully too, which is very very wierd, to say the least.

I have no idea whether I broke something (what kernel files should I be
looking at for newfs?) or if the hardware maintenance we were doing last
night (trying to configure a soundblaster pro on various IRQs to get a
DOS game working right) might have screwed up the floppy.

Help!
