I have tried 4 sets of dist.fs and fixit.fs to fix this problem. They include
the original 0.1 set, the ones on agate in the unofficial dir that have the
wd.c fix, the 0.2 set (which had the keyboard prob on my machine), and the most
recent set announced (I can't remeber what they were exactly, but they came
only in 1.44 format because of the size of the kernel). With the exception of
the 0.2 set which had the keyboard problem causing a much shorter install
process :), all of these would install successfully, ask you to remove the
floppy, and then proceed to reboot repeatedly with the message 'no disk label'.
With each of these I have booted the fixit floppy to try to create a label.
They all failed to create a label. I am running a no-name i386DX-33 with a
Adaptec 2322 ESDI/floppy controller running a Maxtor 8380E 300MB drive. This
drive is a 15Mbps transfer rate drive. I have two DOS partitions preceeding
my attempted installation partition (32MB DOS bootable and 100MB extended).
If can help me or if you need more information, please email me. My address
is danr@netcom.com. Thanks in advance.
