OK, I downloaded the patchkit and installed the patches (1 through
83) ran config, make depend, and make 386bsd. Config and make
completed with no errors, so I installed the 386bsd image file in /
and rebooted. The auto-configuration mechanism reported "wd0: wdgetctrl
failed, assuming OK" and continued. fsck ran fine, and I got a login
prompt. Looked pretty good, but the problem came when I tried to login.
The keyboard was dead. I tried typing my login name. Nothing. I tried
a CTRL-ALT-DEL, Nothing! So it's to the power switch and the Fixit floppy.

I suppose the problem is with my configuration file. I have no
experience in making a config file, so I thought I'd start with the examples
given. So I was compiling with the GENERICISA config, with the only change
being the Machine ID. Is this my problem? The boot image that comes
with the dist floppies runs fine, as does a boot image with 2 drive support
that I snagged from f.ms.uky.edu.

This brings up another question: How do I put the info in the config file
to support my 2nd disk drive. I really need that drive. I'm pretty stymied
on this point.

Does anyone have suggestions/comments? Even better, can someone mail me
a copy of their config file with 2 drive and X Server support in it.
Gracias.
