I just installed 386BSD but things aren't exactly perfect. There are a few
problems. Whenever I try to use my modem via 'tip', such as

tip 570-1889

I get the following message :

lock open : No such file or directory
all ports busy

And the phone/remote files make no sense at all so when I try that approach
it never works either, I get an 'unknown host' message.

Also, appropos doesn't find my whatis.db so 'man -k xxxx' doesn't work either.
If anyone knows how to fix these problems I would appreciate the help.
