Try mread b:\*.\* /tmp :-)

Now to answer your real question: the docs for mtools are in
/usr/othersrc/public/mtools-2.0.5 [if you installed the standard distribution].
You have to install the tools from there, or else the man pages won't be copied
to the appropriate place.

IMHO the 386bsd sucks, and when I get the time I'll steal Tom Christiansen's
perl man that works just fine on our Convex.
