Yes, I think this is the answer.  The new patchkit bootables are supposed to
fix the Gateway boot problem.  It has nothing to do with the VL-Bus; the
floppy controller that Gateway uses in the 4DX2-66V has a different 
initialization value than what is hardcoded in the bootable image.
