: ps: and by the way, BIND and dump/rdump are just as useless for the same
: reason as is traceroute. At least traceroute compiles, but it never returns
: any useful information at all, just 1 * * *, 2 * * * up to 30 * * * and then
: it quits.
:
: Oh, forgive me, you can control how many x * * *'s you get before it
: quits with the -m option.

Here's what my traceroute says on ISC 3.2 2 i386:

 1 NetBlazer2.Falls-Church.VA.ALTER.NET (137.39.96.1) 780 ms 790 ms 800 ms
 2 Falls-Church1.VA.ALTER.NET (137.39.1.1) 810 ms 790 ms 790 ms
 3 Falls-Church2.VA.ALTER.NET (137.39.1.14) 810 ms 830 ms 800 ms
 4 Washington.DC.ALTER.NET (137.39.27.2) 820 ms 810 ms 790 ms
 5 mae-east.psi.net (192.41.177.245) 810 ms 810 ms 800 ms
 6 fps226.psi.net (38.1.10.226) 1060 ms 970 ms 950 ms
 7 psi.com (192.67.6.2) 960 ms 970 ms 950 ms

I'm sure the problem is not with traceroute or SYSV...
