The result of much puzzleface making over this problem has impaired my
basic reading abilities. I tried sending two email messages to Atsushi
but have just realised there seems to be no email link to him (or Japan?)

Anyways, this Buslogic (awka Bustek) BT742A seems to work without
any problems for 6 people who replied to my original posting and NOT
work for seven others of whom five of them say they have exactly the same
problem that I am having with the BT742A.

I am now patiently waiting on my Buslogic distributor to get me a technical
manual so I can find out what these return codes are all about.
In meantime I'd be really happy to try the 'enhanced' Julian's driver that
Atsushi is working on and I assume the others with same problem would as well.

So, if nobody has any major objections, PLEASE PLEASE post this new driver
source to this newsgroup.

Also if anyone is interested the LOMAS LDP-CACHE II scsi controller works
fine with 386BSD. My controller has the Lomas bios 415 and GB12 version
rom with 64k static ram track buffer and 2 megs of ram cache (can take a max
of 4megs). This scsi controller provides an standard WD1003 interface to the
ISA bus.
