Howdy! I recently downloaded the etc01 distribution, and wanted to
build a pile of the programs it comes with. However, I noticed that a
lot of them die on errors because they can't find libcompat.a.

So, I went and looked around to see if there was any place that had the
compat lib source, and I found it in /usr/othersrc/contrib/isode/compat
(which had to be renamed /usr/obj/contrib/isode/compat because a lot
of programs were dying on that...).

I tried to run a make, but it died on the error "Do not know how to make
target manifest.h". Manifest.h is one level up in the subdirectory h.

So, I changed the makefile to include the -I ../h directory in all the
Compiles. However, when I did this, the compiler barfed massively on
sprintf errors in one of the header files it was gettin from the ../h
directory.

Has anybody had this problem before, and if so, what can be done to fix
it...?

Thanks a bunch!
