This posting is for a friend who has no news access but I (and I suspect
many others) would be interested in some simple step-by-step info. on getting
X up and running. Any offers ?

The current problem is that X is up and running with a cursor visible but the
mouse is not recognised. Is it just a case of linking a name like /dev/mouse
to the appropriate port or what (yes I am a naive X user).

Thank you for reading this.
