Hi,
On my 386bsd machine, nobody can su to root. There is no
password (confirmed by checking the password file a hundred times), yet
it asks for one anyway. I tried setting a password, but it would not
accept it. The /etc/group file is ok too.
The only way to become root is from the login: prompt. Then,
no password is needed. Obviously, this is a pain. Does anybody know
what is going on? Thanks.
