I've had similar frustrations while attempting to use my DPT PM2012B EISA
SCSI interface with my Maxstor LXT-340S SCSI disk drive.

I've had good luck with the controller's WD1003 register emulation mode with
other OSs, but I haven't had any luck at getting BSD kernels or modern Linux
kernels to play with my controller in this mode. I did run Minix 1.3
successfully on this controller at one point using WD1003 emulation mode.

Ideas?
