I am running a 66Mhz 486DX2 with a Micropolis 2112A hard drive
attached to a DC-680 local bus IDE controller. Also included in this
system is a Adaptec 1540b SCSI controller with a Toshiba CD Rom and a
local bus Genoa graphics card.

I have partitioned the hard drive with two 200 meg dos partitions and
a 600 meg partition for 386BSD. I have identified the 386BSD
partition with the appropriate A5h designation.

While attempting to install 386BSD, the install program reports that
386BSD has already installed. When I tell it to reinstall it prompts
me with the same information. When the kernel boots, the system
recognizes the Adaptec SCSI controller (as0) but does not seem to find
the IDE controller since no wd* device is listed. Furthermore, a
device named npx0 is listed for IRQ13. I have been unable to
determine what npx0 might be.

After having read the FAQ and searching FTP sites for answers, I
haven't a clue as to what might be wrong. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
